The number one question every foreigner has. Here's the honest answer: it's gotten much easier, but you need to set up before you arrive.

Works for hotels

All our partner hotels accept international credit cards. No setup needed. Just tap or swipe. This is the easiest option for accommodation.

Some smaller restaurants and shops still don't accept foreign cards.

Alipay (Tour Pass)

Recommended

Download Alipay, link your foreign credit card, activate "Tour Pass." Takes 10 minutes. Works at 99% of places in China. QR code payments everywhere.

You'll need your passport to verify. Do this before you fly.

Setup required

WeChat Pay now accepts foreign cards too. If you already use WeChat (you should), enable the payment feature. Same QR code system as Alipay.

WeChat is essential for communication in China anyway. Download it now.

Cash (RMB)

Backup

ATMs at the airport dispense RMB. Keep some cash as backup, but honestly you'll barely use it. China is 95% cashless. Most taxi drivers don't carry change.

Before you book.

Do I need a visa to come to China?
Citizens from 55 countries can enter China visa-free for up to 240 hours (10 days) for transit. For longer stays, you'll need a visa. Lin Lu can help with visa guidance and, in some cases, work permit sponsorship through ENJOYKEYS.
Can foreigners check into these hotels?
Yes. All 6 partner hotels accept foreign guests. You'll need your passport. The hotel handles the mandatory police registration (it takes 2 minutes at check-in). No extra paperwork on your end.
Why are the co-living prices so low?
These are shared spaces, not private hotel rooms. You get a bed, desk, and access to communal facilities. China's cost of living outside tier-1 city centers is genuinely low. ¥99/night in Shanghai is real. ¥888/month in Hangzhou is real.
What's the cancellation policy?
Hotels: follow each hotel's standard policy (usually free cancellation 24-48h before check-in). KEYS Spaces: contact Lin Lu directly to arrange flexible terms. We're humans, not algorithms.
Is there English-speaking support?
Yes. Lin Lu and our team speak English. We'll help you communicate with hotels, handle check-in issues, and navigate anything that requires Chinese. That's literally why we exist.
How do I get from the airport to my hotel?
From Pudong Airport: Maglev + Metro (fastest) or Didi (Chinese Uber, needs Alipay). From Hongqiao Airport: all partner hotels are 5-10 min by taxi. We'll send you directions before arrival.
